James Wood escreve sobre Philip Roth. Um belo texto sobre um belíssimo escritor. Para ler aqui.
(…) He showed us that fictional artifice is not the enemy of reality but the means by which we double down on the real. Supposedly, these days we have no stomach for fiction-making—we all have a terrible “reality hunger,” and we need our literary texts broken up for us into easy chunks of verity. But to read Roth is to experience not only the fiction of fictionality but the reality of it, too; the great hunger artist feeds our hunger for the real—artistically, complexly, enigmatically, comically, passionately.
